When the seasons shift, we're reminded that we can, too.
We spend so much of our lives moving from one thing to the next, managing, producing, and carrying more than we realize.
This intimate weekend in the forest is an invitation to step away from the noise and return to what matters. Through yoga, breathwork, meditation, sound, reflection, creativity, and time in nature, we’ll create space to slow down, let go of what no longer belongs, and reconnect with ourselves and one another.
Come as you are. Leave feeling a little lighter, more grounded, and more connected.

Meet Your Host
Hi, I'm Ashlyn, Founder of The Collective Om
After losing my brother, Kirk, to an overdose ten years ago, I dedicated much of my life to helping others. I earned my PhD, became a trauma informed researcher, and eventually landed the “dream job” I had worked 12 years toward as an assistant professor at Trinity College in Ireland. But after three years living abroad taught me the value of slowing down, I began to recognize how disconnected I had become from myself. I walked away from the career I had worked so hard to build and began finding my way back. The Collective Om grew from that journey.
My retreats are about more than yoga or breathwork. We move, meditate, reflect, explore, play, and connect, creating space to notice the beliefs and patterns shaping our lives and move toward greater alignment with who we are. My background as a trauma informed researcher and yoga and breathwork facilitator shapes how I hold these spaces: your lived experience matters, everything is an invitation, and practices are accessible whether you’re a beginner or experienced yogi.
More than anything, my intention is to create community around growth, connection, and living with greater intention. My hope is that what begins here continues through the relationships we build, the practices you take home, and opportunities to gather again.
Retreats feel like an alignment of so many pieces of my own journey, and it’s an honor to share them with you. If this feels aligned, I’d love to welcome you.

About the Forest
The Hostel in the Forest holds a very special place in my heart. I attended my first yoga retreat here, and the experience reminded me how simple and beautiful life can be when we step away from the noise, slow down, and reconnect with what matters. It has been a safe haven for me ever since, and coming full circle to host my own retreat here feels incredibly special.
Just 90 minutes from Jacksonville, the Hostel feels worlds away. Set on 140 acres of forest and wetlands near Brunswick, Georgia, this nonprofit sanctuary is rooted in environmental sustainability, community, and connection with nature. Accommodations are intentionally simple and rustic, with treehouses, geodesic domes, shared spaces, screened and open air structures, composting toilets, outdoor hot showers, and plenty of forest sounds. There is no WiFi, heating, or air conditioning, inviting us to unplug and settle into the rhythms of the natural world.
This isn’t a luxury resort, and that’s part of the magic. It’s everything you need and nothing you don’t. Come ready to unplug, get a little earthy, slow down, and discover what’s waiting for you among the trees.
A Note on Accessibility
The Hostel is a rustic, forested property and may not be suitable for all mobility needs. Most accommodations require climbing steps and the property includes natural terrain. Please consider your individual mobility needs before registering and reach out if you have questions about whether the space will work for you.
